A community willfully committed to Christ's transforming work in our lives and in our world.

How many of you grew up in the Red Wing area?
How many of you grew up somewhere else?

Each of us answers those questions based on our perception of what “grew up” means.

So, if I were to introduce Don X who was born and has lived his entire life in Red Wing, I would say, “This is Don X.  Don X lives in Red Wing.  As a matter of fact, Don X grew up in Red Wing.”  That would be an accurate statement.

If I introduced myself to others I would say, “I am Mark Kalb.  I have lived in Red Wing now for 26 years. I grew up in Southern Illinois.” That too, would that be an accurate statement.

First Q: What are the parts/ingredients/dynamics that characterize your understanding of “grew up”
(as in “I ‘grew up’ in Red Wing.”)?

Second Q: At what point do we step out of the “grew up”/“growing up” phase of our life?

Third Q: When we step out of the “grew up”/“growing up” phase, what phase/dimension do we step
                 up into/down onto?

I have to age, I just don’t want to “grow” . . . old.  Salvation is all about an experience where we don’t grow old, rather we grow continually new!

2 Corinthians 5 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, and the new continues to come!
